Are you tired of fighting with your child? Do you miss being the fun parent or feeling joy?
Toddlers can be incredibly difficult. They are strong-willed, stubborn, and just learning the concepts of yes and no, and of right and wrong. They also test boundaries. After all, doing so is how they learn.
While all this can be frustrating, there is help. This course will teach you the reason your child behaves the way they do, how to properly talk to a toddler, the emotional bridge you need to cross with your little one, and the triggers that could be causing their tantrums.
Tired of yelling, screaming, and crying due to parenthood? Are the stress levels in your house too high? Cut out the shame, blame, and “pain” associated with discipline and parenting with this Positive Parenting course
Do you feel like all your mom friends have it together and you’re just a hot mess, you’re not alone. Parenting is exhausting, confusing, and stressful.
The Positive Discipline Parent Class are aimed at developing mutually respectful relationships. Positive Discipline teaches adults to employ kindness and firmness at the same time, and is neither punitive nor permissive.
The tools and concepts of Positive Discipline include:
Mutual respect. Adults model firmness by respecting themselves and the needs of the situation, and kindness by respecting the needs of the child.
Identifying the belief behind the behavior. Effective discipline recognizes the reasons kids do what they do and works to change those beliefs, rather than merely attempting to change behavior.
Effective communication and problem solving skills.
Discipline that teaches (and is neither permissive nor punitive).
Focusing on solutions instead of punishment.
Encouragement (instead of praise). Encouragement notices effort and improvement, not just success, and builds long-term self-esteem and empowerment.
Unique characteristics of the Positive Discipline Model also include:
Teaching adults and students through experiential activities. Creating opportunities to practice new skills and to have fun learning by doing.
Classroom discipline programs and parent education programs that are consistent. Parents, teachers, and childcare providers can work together to provide a secure, consistent environment for children.
Inexpensive training and ongoing support so members of communities can teach each other Positive Discipline skills.
